UK’s petroleum engineering software company, Petroleum Experts Limited (PETEX), extended the existing license for IPM suite to the Department of Energy & Resources Engineering and donated additional software, MOVE suite to the Department of Earth Science education, Chonnam National University in 2023.
PETEX specializes in petroleum engineering software and consists of software engineering or petroleum/gas engineering experts. With over 420 clients worldwide, its business mainly focuses on modeling software for petroleum and gas development. However, applications of the company’s software engineering products are not limited to the field of petroleum engineering. With its exploration features, the software can cover the entire modeling process, from exploration to the development and production of petroleum and gas.
The IPM suite is the Integrated Production Modelling software (IPM). IPM models the complete oil or gas production system, including reservoir, wells, and the surface network. The IPM suite of tools (GAP, GAP TRANSIENT, PROSPER, MBAL, PVTP, REVEAL, MOVE and RESOLVE) can be run together seamlessly, allowing the engineer to design complete field models that include the reservoir tanks, all the wells and the surface gathering system. The Move Suite software integrated into the IPM mainly focuses on geological exploration assistance for Geology and Geophysics (G&G) experts in the E&P field to find and estimate oil/gas fields. Furthermore, the Move Suite provides analysis functions and modeling features that enable surface exploration and the mapping and modeling of subsurface structures in the field of structural geology. Each department anticipates making significant progress in the graduated students training and performing related petroleum engineering and geological studies and projects using this software.
