Overview

International Internship Program is to provide opportunities for participants to develop the professional skills and communication ability, which would be a chance to gain a greater global awareness as well as an inspiration to future career path. The internship program arranged by Chonnam National University can be completed during the regular semester (Spring/Fall). By registering for an adequate CNU course, students can earn credits when they complete the internship program with good standing.

II. Self-Arranged Internship Programs

Overview Students need to search and contact the international institutions by themselves and when they find a position for the internship, apply for the credits at CNU.

Eligibility

  • Applies to both University-Arrange Internship and Self-Arranged Internship Programs
  • The applicant should meet the following qualifications.
School Level & Student Class
  • Undergraduate
  • Junior and Senior Class
No. of Completed Semesters
  • 4 to 6 Semesters
  • Those on their 7th semester can apply only if they have more than 7 credits left, and must complete one regular semester at CNU after the completion of the internship program.
GPA
  • Option 1: Overall GPA 3.0 or above
  • Option 2: Cumulative GPA 3.5 or above

  • 3. Select “Outbound Programs” - “Int’l Internship” - “Application”
  • 4. Fill in the Application
  • 5. Upload the documents (PDF version)

  • How to earn academic credits
    • ① Registered during the entire course of the internship
    • ② Submission of 2 student reports
      CNU Int’l – Outbound Programs – Int’l Internship – Report
      · Arrival Report: within 7 days from the internship start date
      · Return Student Report: within 7 dates from the internship finishing date
    • ③ Submission of official certificate of internship

Scholarships

  • Receive a CNU scholarship (maximum KRW 3,500,000)
    Internship Stipend Scholarship
    Paid Internship KRW 3,500,000
    Unpaid Internship KRW 1,200,000
  • The amount varies depending on the program.
  • The amount is subject to change.
  • The above scholarship is may eligible for the student participating in the University-Arranged Internship Program during the regular semester (Spring/Fall).

Things To Keep In Mind When Applying For An Internship

  • The final decision is made by the overseas internship institute, not by Chonnam National University Office of International Affairs.
  • The overseas internship institute has a right to refuse an ineligible applicant.
  • The internship placement is suggested by the overseas internship institute depending on the language proficiency, the applicant’s major, interest, etc.
  • The internship program may be canceled due to an unprecedented reasons.
  • The details of the program is subject to change.
