The contest will evaluate participants in two categories: Native Speakers (Students from English-speaking countries, including all countries where English is an official language) and Non-Native Speakers (Students from non-English-speaking countries). If you are interested in joining the competition, please read the following outline carefully and feel free to contact us with any questions. ■ Competition Outline • Date: September 27, 2025, 2:00-4:00 p.m. • Place: PC Room, 1st Floor, Information & Technology Services (University Computing Center / B12) • Topic: To be announced at the contest on September 27 (Saturday) • Essay Length: 650~700 words ※ Note: The duration of the contest for each category is two hours, and participants will be required to write their essays without internet access. Dictionaries are not also allowed during the competition. ■ Application Submission • Deadline: September 24, 2025 • How to Apply: Submit your application via email to tribune1968@cnumedia.com ※ The application form can be download from the following website: tribune.cnumedia.jnu.ac.kr. ■ Competition Categories • Native Speakers: Students from English-speaking countries, including all countries, including all countries where English is an official language) • Non-Native Speakers: Students from non-English-speaking countries ※ Note: The following students are not eligible to join the competition: prospective graduate students, foreign exchange students (i.e., those enrolled at other universities who will not actually graduate from CNU), Korean language trainees, or previous the first-prize winners of this contest. ■ Awards for Each Category • First Prize: 500,000 KRW (1 winner) • Second Prize: 300,000 KRW (1 winner) • Third Prize: 200,000 KRW (1 winner) • Honorable Mention: 100,000 KRW (3 winners) ※ Note: Depending on the number of entries, the judges reserve the right to modify the number of awards in each category accordingly without prior notice. ■ Winners Announcement • October 22, 2025 at tribune.cnumedia.jnu.ac.kr ※ Some of the awarded essays may be published in the Chonnam Tribune. ▶ For more information, please send an email to tribune1968@cnumedia.com 목록
