Geotechnical and Geo-Energy Lab

  • Research Area Development of geo-energy structure and optimization of geothermal system
  • Details In this laboratory, we are developing a hybrid T-M geothermal wall that can be applied to the walls of geotechnical structures such as subways, underground parking lots, underground tunnels, etc. T-M geothermal wall technology is a hybrid technology that simultaneously performs the function of a heat exchanger that absorbs or releases heat from the ground at low depth and the function of a geotechnical structure as a structural wall. It is a new concept of ubiquitous energy technology without regional restrictions. In order to develop the hybrid T-M geothermal wall technology, it is necessary 1) to establish a thermal characteristic D/B of the low and medium depth ground to which the geothermal wall cooling and heating system will be applied and to develop a technology to predict the thermal characteristics of the ground. 2) to develop and optimize an analysis model for the geothermal wall cooling and heating system. 3) to develop composite concrete materials for structural optimization and performance assurance of geothermal walls. 4) to develop detection/repair confirmation technology for heat transfer abnormalities in geothermal wall systems
